Cast, locations, objects

Paste a reference sheet. Each heading at the chosen level becomes one entity, the heading text becomes the name (trailing ages and parentheses are stripped), the first couple of sentences become the summary, and the rest becomes the detail. For characters, the first name is added as an alias automatically. Run it once per type: cast at ### as characters, then a locations sheet as locations, and so on. Re-importing updates by name rather than duplicating, and aliases you added by hand are kept.

A section written as a bullet list with a bold name, like - **Mel** โ€” A&E colleague..., needs the bullet option: those have no headings, so the heading modes skip them entirely.

Add an aliases: line under any name and it is used verbatim, replacing the guess. aliases: Beth, Auntie Beth. It is stripped from the detail so it is not sent twice. This is the one piece of markup worth adding to your source documents: nothing can infer a nickname, and an entity that never matches contributes nothing.

Run-on list of places or objects

For a list written on one line rather than as headings, like the NAMES / PLACES QUICK LIST in a cast sheet. Each entry becomes an entity; a trailing parenthetical becomes its summary.

The separator matters: these lists use a middle dot precisely because individual entries contain commas. Flat 8, Crawshay Court, Heol Pant-Glas, Gurnos is one place, and splitting on commas would shatter it.

Aliases are worked out where they are obvious: the Aberdare also matches "Aberdare", Gurnos / Heol y Fynwent matches either, and a full address matches its parts except the final area, which is usually an entity in its own right.

Chapter plan

Each ### CHAPTER ... heading becomes a chapter-scoped document, sent only while you are writing that chapter. Chapter numbers written as words are matched against the chapters in this project, so "CHAPTER SEVENTEEN" finds "Chapter 17". Any **Plants:** line is split into plant records attached to that chapter.

Reference document

For the doctrine, the timeline, the threads file. Anything longer than the piece size is split further at its own sub-headings, then by lines, so nothing arrives too big to retrieve. A 40,000-token threads document becomes roughly fifty addressable pieces rather than one unusable lump. Tick global for something that should apply to every book, which is how one originality doctrine serves them all.
