Paste the text. Hidden characters are stripped on the way in. Curly quotes and em dashes are left exactly as written.
Only used for text appearing before the first chapter heading, such as a title page. If chapter splitting is off, the whole import gets this title instead.
Google Docs exports one paragraph per line with no blank lines between them. Detect handles that, and falls back to blank lines for ordinary markdown.
Deeper headings stay inside their chapter as ordinary paragraphs.
Matched case-insensitively against each line on its own. The default also allows a leading # or *.
